I am 2 months pregnant and currently breastfeeding my 11 month old. I have lost 5 pounds in the past 3 weeks. I know I should be gaining but I can't seem to...should I be concerned?

  1. It is not uncommon to lose weight in the first trimester, especially if you are getting a lot of morning sickness.  Another contributing factor could be the breast feeding because you burn a lot of calories when you breast feed.

I don't think you really have anything to worry about but if you are still worried than talk to your doctor or midwife the next time you see him/her.

  2. I am on my 5th pregnant and I am 9 weeks pregnant with this one and haven't gained much weight. But most of my pregnancies I would gain and then I would lose it all again and that went on till I was like 17-20 weeks and then I started gaining weight again.

Good Luck Hun. It will be fine!!

  3. I wouldn't be worried.

I am 3 months pregnant and have lost 10 lbs in a week and a half.

I just can't keep anything down.

  4. some weight loss is normal, especially during the first trimester when the majority of women have "morning" sickness.  I lost weight at first but then quickly made up for the last half of my pregnancy.  You should discuss it with your doctor though just to be on the safe side.

  5. Wow! You really want your kids close in age..LOL.. I'd bring it up to your OB next visit and see what they say.

  6. I lost a lot of weight in my first three or four months. It was mainly due to the fact that I couldn't keep anything down.
