I have been offered a place at university starting this Sept 2008, I just wondered along with my maintainance grant whether I will be entitled to any maternity benefits or housing benefit to make preparation for the baby a little less in hardship

  1. I hope not. I don't agree with people being on benefits unless they really need it. And the only reason you need housing benefits is because you insist on going to university rather than getting a job. This money isn't plucked from thin air, don't forget its coming from hard working people in your country. Why do you think they should pay for your housing? It takes a lot to choose to claim benefits when you clearly don't need them, its pretty much like handing your pride over on a plate. Why not try a loan? Be a grown up.

  2. well congratulations on both the uni and baby.... and you abit worried how your gonna go to university and raise a baby thats going to be hard but im sure they will give you benefits just call up the uni your going to and ask them
