  1. don't worry cats find the weirdest place just let her get on with it she will decide where she wants and feel safe there .the more you fiddle the worse .

  2. YOU CAN NOT EXPECT HER TO PICK THE SAME SPOT YOU CHOOSE... WHEN YOU SEE HER MAKE HER NEST.. SHE WILL BE IN IT ALMOST CONSTANTLY... THAT IS WHEN SHE WILL BE READY...

IF YOU HAVE A DRESSER... EMPTY YOUR BOTTOM DRAWER OUT AND PLACE TOWELS AT THE BOTTOM... SHE NEEDS A DARK AND SECURE PLACE WITH ONE ENTRANCE TO MAKE HER NEST... OR SHE MIGHT PICK THE BACK OF YOUR CLOSET.. SINCWE USUALLY THAT IS WHERE THERE IS THE LEAST ACTIVITY IN A HOME WITH CHILDREN...

SHE WILL DECIDE WHAT SUITS HER

TO HAVE HER FIXED YOU MUST WAIT UNTIL SHE IS DRY OR FINISHED WITH BREAST FEEDING.. ONLY SHE CAN DECIDE HOW LONG THAT WILL BE..

  3. The location of the nest box is critical. A closet would be ideal. Somewhere warm and quiet and away from the kids. Have you placed her in the nest to show where it is? It should be soft and have enough space for her and a full litter. Keep her food and water near by also. Since she's already had a litter, she should be fine doing everything herself. Once she starts she may howl a little and then they'll start popping out. You'll want to stay nearby in case anything happens to her, or there is too long a time gap in between kittens (kittens can get stuck in the birth canal-this is fatal, and she'll need to go to the vet if this happens). As far as when to take them to the vet, as long as there aren't any noticeable problems, I'd wait at least 6-8 weeks before taking them to the vet. Try not to touch the babies until they are at least 2 weeks old (unless there are rejected ones).

Another thing about the birth, if you can, try to count the placentas. There should be as many placentas as there are kittens. If there isn't, she needs to go the vet immediately, as this could kill her.

Also, don't be afraid to call the vet and ask all the questions you have. Make a list and start asking. If the refuse to answer with out seeing that cat, call another vet. They should be more than willing to give you advice over the phone.

Also, she should be eating kitten food by now, instead of regular cat food. And should continue with the kitten food until the kittens are weaned.

If she neglects or rejects any of the kittens here are some useful links:

You will have to bottle feed, and possibly tube feed if a kitten isn't nursing.

And lastly, relax! She'll be just fine. Cats usually make great mothers, and have the instinct to do everything right. You should just have to supervise.

Feel free to email me if you have more questions.

  4. Please take your kitty to the vet.  The Dr. will be able to answer your questions and will let you know when she's due to give birth.

She can be spayed after she finishes nursing the kittens (to an age when they can eat kitten food).

Thank you for taking her in and being responsible enough to have her spayed after these kittens.

  5. Yeah I agree. I lost you in the middle of the paragraph. Actually type full words next time please.

  6. The answer from The Cat is brilliant - she has all the right answers - follow her instructions and all will be well.
