Question:

Pregnant ferret help?

I got another ferret today and she is pregnant. We haven't had a pregnant ferret before so I thought I could do with some more tips.

Her belly isn't too big but I heard that their belly's are quite small even when they are pregnant. I don't know if this is true or not.

How long are they pregnant for?

Do they have to have any specific type of food whilst pregnant?

What is the average amount of kits she will have?

Any additional advice would be great thanks!

Serious answers only please folks!

Thank you (:

  1. the gestation period for a ferret is 42 days plus or minus a few days
make sure she has always got food and water as they drink and eat a lot more than usual
When she is having the babies leave her alone but occasionally check on them!
Feed her chicken when she is pregnant for extra nutrition
    good luck!
