  1. At first I wasn't getting periods at all, so I had to use provera.  Then my periods started on their own, about every 42 days.  I started using clomid, and it took about 6 months for it to begin making me ovulate.  We just had to keep upping the dosage.  I had a positive test today!

The clomid didn't cause any side effects for me.  I also take glucophage (metformin) to control my blood sugar, which is the cause of my PCOS, and that made me sick for the first few weeks.  My doctor wants me to stay on the glucophage during my first trimester, because it seems to help prevent miscarriage.  If your doctor hasn't discussed glucophage with you, ask about it.

  2. I was able to get pregnant naturally, but it took some work. I was diagnosed with PCOS in November 2006. I was on Metformin for a little under a year. It just didn't agree with me. I worked my butt off and lost a ton of weight, which my doc told me would definitely help because I was pretty overweight. After loosing about 60 lbs I was able to get pregnant December 2007 naturally. Good luck!
