  1. I've grown up with guinea pigs, they make wonderful pets and their so cute.  I think it's wonderful that you already have homes for them.

When my guinea pig was pregnant, I would hold her and try and feel her gently to see who many she had.

    OR

You could take her to the vet and they might be able to have her xrayed, but that may cost you.

    Congratulations!

  2. I would take her to the vet to find out, otherwise there really isn't anyway to tell until she delivers! Congrats on the baby pigs! Good luck!

  3. A pregnant guinea pig's stomach should be relatively hard. The smooth muscle of the uterus is stretched out with babies, which should make it hard. If you have ever felt a pregnant woman's stomach you would know what it feels like to have a pregnant animal. I believe that she is suffering from a tumor or growth on her stomach. Have your friend take her to the vet right away. The best thing to do is always go to the vet when you are unsure.

  4. The only way to tell for sure is to go to the vet and have an x-ray or ultrasound done.  Trying to feel the babies on your own can easily result in injury to the mom or babies.

Going to the vet will also allow the vet to be familiar with you and your guinea pig.  That way, if she has any complications and requires a c-section the vet will have some idea of what is normal for her.

Please don't discount my information over this, but it's rather silly to post on a public forum but try to tell people what they can and cannot say in response.

  5. Depends how far on she is. If she is near the end you may feel how many there are. But be gentle she can be easily distressed if you start poking her. Congratulations and good luck. I had 12 babies (not at one tine) there sooooooooooooooo cute! :]

  6. take her to the vet and see if they can help you with figuring out how many babies it will have.

hope your little piggies are all happy and healthy when they are born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

    hope i helped!!!

  7. Hurray for a British person with piggies! You can only really tell when she in in her third trimester and she's nice and fat. From above, gently feel around under her heip bones and there is usually one on the left and one on the right. The others can be in the middle but deeper so you can really tell for sure how many exactly, however excited you are to know!

    Hope this helps x

  8. I don't think there is away unless you take her to the vets for a scan

  9. go to a home, its a shame your breeding and all the rest of it

  10. I don't think there is anyway to tell for sure. When my guinea pigs were pregnant when they were close to their due date if you sat them on your lap you could clearly feel the babies moving about and you could feel she had one either side of her. One of the other ones wasn't that big at all but ended up having 4 so I don't think you can really be sure.
