How long does a heat rash last when pregnant? What does one look like when it is healing? Does the Aveeno bath work? If so, how fast does it work?

  1. try some different creams, some soothing creams even possibly showering twice an day and stay out of the heat.

I know that my aunt was allergic to her first child. she broke out in hives for the whole second trimester.  they told her to use The pink stuff for excema (Calamine I think).

    good luck.

  2. I use non-medicated corn starch (Great-Grandma said too).  I have suffered from heat rashes my whole life due to being heavy set.  Being pregnant surely doesn't help.  The corn starch will provide relief to any burning and help heal the rash in about a day or two.  Good luck

  3. Are you sure it's a heat rash? Just a word of caution (not being mean at all): I thought what i had was a heat rash too and in reality, after it was swabbed by a doctor, it came back as Herpes (I thanked my ex-bf for it and kicked his butt to the curb). If you are not sure that it is for  sure a heat rash, please get it swabbed for the health of your baby? Best of luck (i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is just a heat rash)

  4. Are you sure you have a heat rash? Have you had it checked by a dr? There is a rash you can get whilst pregnant which is caused by the hormones (I know I have it) and it's a pain in the bum. It's very similar looking to a heat rash and reacts to heat in the same way (ie is worse after a shower or bath and is soothed by cool). If this is what you have your dr can prescribe a steroid cream to use (which is safe). However it's worthwhile getting it checked anyway as there are a few nasties you can get whilst pregnant too which are similar so it's worth ruling them out.

  5. It shouldnt harm your baby as i've heard its not uncommon. If you are concerned I would ask your midwife or Dr. Try not to allow yourself to get too hot though as its not good for the baby. He/she is already a lot warmer than you. Best of luck for the rest of the pregnancy.
