  1. These days things are very different.

I've had 2 children, 1 boy & 1 girl.  I live on the west coast, but all of our family lives on the east coast.  Due to being in the military and our group of friends constantly changing, we did have 2 showers.

My sister had 2 boys, about 6 years apart.  She also had 2 showers because she didn't keep much from her first born.

In your case, having a new dad, a shower may be a good idea.  You can have a "diaper party", (we did this with our first child).  My husband invited all his friends over for a bbq & beers, only catch was, they were to each bring a package of diapers (no newborn diapers because they grow out of them so stinkin fast!).  The wives or girlfriends of the guys were welcomed to come, we had a few traditional baby shower games for the ladies, while them men cooked and hung out in the backyard.  There are plenty of games that include both men and women.

I think it would be a great idea to include dad and his friends...Ours turned out to be A LOT of fun!

    Hope it helps!

  2. Is that all you can think of?  Get some birth control

  3. You don't HAVE to. I always thought a baby shower is just  party for your friends and family to give to gifts for the baby. Kinda like have birthday party every year lol

  4. yes!! absoloutly!! its for the baby not for the father of the baby!

  5. it really depends on how far apart you children are if ther more than 8 years id say yes but in my family we  only believe in one

  6. My husband and I have two kids - both together.... I got two showers... Because they were 4 years apart... I didn't have a lot of stuff.

You should get another one- if you haven't had a kid in a while or if you had a boy and you are now having a girl (or vice versa)... Or - the new family this might be their first grandchild and want to throw a shower...

  7. I think you should have one for every child you have no matter what, it is a party for everyone to welcome the new baby.

  8. My sons are 6 years apart. I had a second baby shower. It was fun.

  9. If someone wants to throw you one....
