I coordinate the Community Action Program for Children in our area and am looking for ideas for new programs that parents would be interested in. I'm also interested in any ideas for programs that would fall into the "Healthy Living" category. We already run a Community Kitchen and 2 parent interactive "Tumble Bumble" gym programs for kids under 7. Any input much appreciated!

  1. is there anyone that could donate some land to grow your own vegetables and rear chickens they could learn about living off the land

  2. Do you know what I would LOVE?  Someplace I can go for parenting advice.  Sometimes things come up that I just don't know the answers too.  Some sort of resources for advice and support that is not your own family would be great.

Also a babysitting co-op would be awesome.  A program with pre-screened families who can earn babysitting time by babysitting other people's kids within the co-op.  I currently have NO ONE to watch my kids.  We miss out on a lot AND just alond time with me and my husband.

  3. That baby-sitting thing is a great idea!  I would definitely get some play groups together.  For healthy living, you could do a class or meeting on picky toddlers, what to feed your toddler, etc.  Also, maybe a pregnancy nutrition one would be good too.
