  1. No, it is not normal.  To see whereit might be coming in, wait until dark, turn off the lights in the house and have someone go outside with a flashlight and shine it around the perimeter of the door.  If you see light, water can get in at that point.  As Aaron A says, it could be the insulation strip.  On the other hand the door could have been installed out of square or the door frame itself it out of square. The door may need to come out and the door frame shimmed out to be square.

  2. no not normal.  Check the weatherstrip in the door.  If stripping is ok check the reveal between the doors.  you may need to shim the hindges to make the doors close evenly. this will put the same pressure on the weatherstripping all the way around and form a good seal.  Also check the gap under the door.  you may need to adjust the threshold or add a sweep.  good luck it is an easy fix.

  3. No it shouldn't be leaking unless water is hard sprayed right at the spot. But I wash my front doors off a couple times a year and mine don't leak there. I would think contacting Home Depot or a local lumber yard for suggestions could help you.

  4. No water should be coming in thats not normal nor good,  there is a seal attached to the jamb of the door that goes around the sides and the top, then you have a sweep on the bottom.  Replace the seals or the ones that are bad.  They may be completely missing(removed for paint) where in you will need to find/get new seals they are then cut to length with a razor and in stalled  in the groove on the jam(the groove is facing inside the house)
