Preity Zinta dismisses talks of selling Kings XI Punjab
The Indian film actress, Preity Zinta, has dismissed the rumours of selling her Indian Premier League (IPL) franchised called the Kings XI Punjab.
The Bollywood beauty is of the view that she has taken care of her franchise like a mother and therefore she part with it so easily. She also said that she has sacrificed her film career when she was at the peak of her profession for this team.
She stated, “We were going to do a stake offload, a bit of it. But there was this random rumour (of selling it). I don't think I will ever go out of it completely of selling it). I don't think I will ever go out of it completely because to me it’s my baby.
I have worked very hard for it. I have given my life to it. I can't just wash my hands off it. But I think now it is settled and is in its own zone.”
Zinta and her ex-boy friend Ness Wadia, the heir to Bombay Dyeing fortune and the great grandson of famous lawyer-politician Mohammad Ali Jinnah, wanted to get the rights of the team in 2008. When the concept of Twenty20 IPL started, Zinta along with her
ex boyfriend Wadia and business partner Mohit Burmani bought the team for $76 Million.
There were reports that Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia were looking to sell their team especially after the income tax and other officials came down really hard on former IPL chief Lalit Modi. However, after investigations, Pretty’s Kings 11 Punjab has been
cleared of any wrong doings.
Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 started with the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. They played in the two matches of the league and reached the semifinal, which they played against Chennai Super Kings. However, Kings XI Punjab could not win the Semifinal
so they ended at number 3 position.
The squad of Kings XI Punjab for the fourth season of the IPL has been decided. The Man of the Tournament in the World Cup Yuvraj Singh has been appointed the new captain of the team.
