Question:

Preliminary HSC exams advice?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

Our Preliminary HSC exams commence soon as I'm in Year 12 next term.

We will be examined on every course on every topic we have studied throughout the year and I am wondering if I should rely entirely on the study guides I can buy or take the time to make my own notes (with homework in the way too).

Should the Preliminary HSC be a worry? If you can add anymore useful information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Hey mate, im doing my HSC this year.

DO NOT STRESS ABOUT PRELIMINARY EXAMS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Do a bit of study for them BUT DON'T STRESS

    and DON'T bother with summaries.

I know your teachers are probably telling you how important they are. THEY'RE  NOT

Prelim's don't count towards you HSC and even if you do REALLY badly (which you won't because you sound smart enough)... by your 3rd week of year 12 everyone has forgotten them and you'll be wishing you had have gone out on the weekend insted of studying.

    Just relax.....

    HOWEVER........

Once your in year 12 start concerntrating... AND ... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD..... do your OWN summaries AS YOU GO... (and read them every now and then)

Everyone (myself included) leaves their summaries until 'Trial Exams'..... it is the WORST thing to do. You will run out of time and start stressing.... PLEASE DON'T DO IT

The absolute BEST advice i can give is to relax now and then work at a steady pace throughout year 12... (but, don't stress) and if you do your summaries as you go you should SMASH the HSC......

    And...

Remember that term 4 of year 11 (aka: term one year 12) will be in your HSC, so don't start pissing about because its the end of the year...

Also...year 12 assessment tasks AND trial exams DO count towards your HSC (combined they make up 50% of you HSC mark, the other 50% is you HSC exam mark)

So there you go.... I'm sure that answers you question.

    "No Worries" in advance.
