Premier Dane prominent in the Grade A Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase

The flooding of twenty entries in the Grade A Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase has brought in quite a few who have their chances at bagging the €96,400 prize money. The four-year-old and above runners will take their chances over the three mile track
at Listowel on Wednesday, 19th September. Not all the candidates have been active at Listowel lately, while there are prospects who have just raced out of a back-to-back and a hat-trick.
One of the most commendable entries is the ten-year-old bay gelding, Premier Dane. The Irish bay gelding is unbeaten in the 2012 campaign. He lined up three successes through races at three different race courses.
Indian Danehill’s gelding kick started the season with the Betfred Mobile Sports Handicap Hurdle on 21st July, 2012 at Market Rasen over two miles and five furlongs.
Grasping keen hold on the pace when racing in third took him on to the second position with three more furlongs still to go. Went three lengths clear just near the wire and set Raslan into the runner-up’s position while heading on by the mark of just half-length.
The David Pipe trained had his next stop in the Sis Live Handicap Chase on 20th August, 2012 at Stratford over two miles and four furlongs. The favourite entry was paired up with, Tom Scudamore. In the field of fourteen fences, the ten-year-old
went into a keen pursuit of the leader after jumping over the tenth fence.
The concluding stages of the race were the most crucial as he took left when under pressure, and had the final 1 ½ lengths in his favour.
Taking up the second position was, Life Of A Luso.
Premier Dane’s most recent victory was in the totepool.com Sports, Games, Bingo & More Handicap Hurdle on 2nd September, 2012 at Newton Abbot over two miles and six furlongs.
He was the first one to race through the ten hurdles and set Monetary Fund as the runner-up. The favourite entry, Ashbrittle, ended third behind the winner.
For today, the 7 to 1 entry will get paired with jockey, Tom Scudamore, and the duo will make the most out of the chance.
