Premier League: Arsenal 2-1 vs. Everton – 2nd Half Report
After a rather poor display in front of goal in the first half, Arsenal took to the Emirates in the second half in hopes of turning around the one-goal deficit.
At the start of the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Abou-Diaby-c3453 was brought on as Song seemed to be suffering from a thigh injury of some sort.
The match kicked off with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 on the 47th minute.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 followed the player into the books on the 60th minute, when he tripped Cesc Fabregas from behind.
On the 64th minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 a minute after being brought
on, but the Dutch striker couldn't capitalize on the opportunity.
Nonetheless, six minutes after being brought on, Arshavin helped level the scores on the night. Fabregas dinked a brilliant ball over the Everton backline and a mistimed header from Rodwell saw the ball fall into the path of Arshavin.
The Russian Assassin then went on to smack the ball on the volley into the back of the net from some eight yards out, on the 70th minute.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Howard-c35095 seemed to be infuriated by that goal and was shown a yellow card for holding onto the ball after the goal.
On the 76th minute, Arsenal took the much-deserved lead on the night. Robin van Persie struck a signature corner and found a free http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 in the Everton area. The defender then thumped his header into the back
of the net and saw Arsenal go up, with the scoreline reading two goals to one in favour of the home side.
After the second goal from Arsenal, the game seemed to die down significantly. Arsenal seemed more than content with holding the ball and knocking it forward on a number of occasions, while Everton couldn't help but chase shadows
all over the pitch.
At the end of the ninety minutes, Arsenal were awarded all three points for their marvellous display in the second half, which saw the scoreline go from reading one goal to nil in favour of Everton, to reading two goals to one
in favour of the Gunners.
