Premier League: Arsenal vs. Everton – Half-Time Report
Arsenal are playing host to Everton at the Emirates, in what is both the teams’ scheduled encounter in the Barclays Premier League. Arsenal are missing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085.
The match kicked off with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715, in just the 5th minute of the game. Soon after, Distin followed in the steps of the Arsenal midfielder and was shown a yellow
for a late tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148.
As the match progressed, both teams started to get a firm footing in the game. However, Arsenal seemed to be the much better side on the night. They created most of the chances early on and looked to be dominating the game.
Nonetheless, just when it looked like Arsenal would seal the deal and break the deadlock, Everton got the opening goal of the game, in rather controversial fashion.
Coleman played in a pass to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 on the 24th minute and the French forward appeared to be a good three yards offside. Saha then went on to receive the ball and find the back of the net from eighteen yards out.
However, despite the player being in an offside position, he was not ruled to be in one by the linesman and the goal stood.
Almost immediately after the Everton goal, Arsenal seemed to spring into life. The team started creating a heap of chances, but just couldn't find the golden touch in front of goal, to get level in the game. As the game progressed,
Arsenal seemed to start feeling the added pressure of being one goal down and started falling all over the place. The team's morale seemed to have taken a major blow, thanks to the fact that they were trailing to a goal, one was not supposed to be counted
as one in the first place.
Just before the stoppage of play at the end of the first half, Fellaini was booked for a late fling on Tomas Rosicky and was shown a yellow card for his efforts.
The first half then eventually came to a close, with Everton being the unlikely leaders on the night via a dubious goal.
