Premier League: Blackburn Rovers v Arsenal half time report
Blackburn 1 Arsenal 1
Blackburn and Arsenal are level at the break at Ewood Park, thanks to goals from two in form players.
Theo Walcott followed up his hat-trick in last weekend’s 6-0 victory over Blackpool by opening the scoring for the Gunners, latching onto a Robin van Persie pass and drilling a terrific shot into the bottom corner.
However, Mame Biram Diouf – who himself notched a treble in a midweek Carling Cup victory over Norwich City – soon turned in a cutback from namesake El-Hadji Diouf to level the scores.
In a close, entertaining contest, Ryan Nelsen had an early effort cleared off the line by Gunners’ skipper Cesc Fabregas, who has seen team-mate van Persie limp off with an ankle injury and replaced by Marouane Chamakh.
