Premier League Full Time: Bolton Wanderers vs. Blackburn Rovers, Ten man Bolton defeat Blackburn
A very late volley by Stuart Holden helped secure all three points for Bolton in a game that ended in dramatic fashion, with the score line reading two goals to one in favour of the home side, despite them being down to only ten men.
Holden managed to striker the winning goal in the eighty eighth minute and that was just ten seconds after Mame Biram Diouf struck the equalizing goal for Blackburn on the other end of the pitch.
Fabrice Muamba opened the scoring for the home side on the sixty fifth minute, which was ten minutes after Mark Davies was given the marching orders. Kevin Davies headed down a high ball into the path of Muamba and the player went on to beat Nelsen before
drilling the ball into the back of the net, amidst a very crowded Blackburn area.
Just when it looked like the match would run out with Bolton taking home the easy win, Mame Biram Diouf struck for the away side with just three minutes left of the clock. Roberts helped to play the ball on and into the path of the striker who managed to
draw Jaaskelainen out of his goal and then went on to clip the keeper and see his effort land in the back of the net to settle the score and one goal apiece.
However the strikers and Blackburn's celebrations were cut short as just ten seconds into the re-start after the goal, Bolton had their third win of the night. Kevin Davies once again knocked down a high ball and this time Holden controlled it with his chest
before volleying it into the far post with his left foot.
That goal was what it took to ensure that Bolton would walk away from the game with three points and would maintain their stay in the top five on the Premier League table.
