Premier League Full Time Report: Blackburn Rovers vs. Liverpool – Blackburn put three past Pool
Roy Hodgson took his Liverpool side to Ewood Park, in a game that was supposed to be a must win for the manager. Liverpool had been performing rather poorly so far this season and the manager was on the brink of being fired, if
he could not help pick up the team’s form. As a result, it was expected that Liverpool would manage finally to stabilize in the game against Blackburn. However, prior to the match, almost every expert predicted the game to end as a draw, while some stated
that Liverpool would win the game with ease.
The line-ups for the game were as follows:

The match kicked off with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 taking the game to Blackburn and creating chance after chance. However, just when it looked like Liverpool might be back to their best, Blackburn picked up the opening goal of the game.
In the 32nd minute, Mame Diouf exposed the weakness in Glen Johnson's defending as he strolled past the side back, before squaring the ball to Olsson. Olsson, made no mistake as he smashed a shot past Pepe Reina, despite
the keeper's best efforts to try and rush forward to put some pressure on the Blackburn player.
6 minutes later, Blackburn managed to make it two goals to nil, in their favour. On the 38th minute mark, Gamst Pederson clipped a ball towards Mwaruwari. The forward went on to bully Kyrgiakos, before belting an unstoppable
shot into the back of the Liverpool net.
However, that was not all the action from Blackburn as the team went on to score a third goal in 57th minute. Hoilett received the ball near the corner flank, but despite being marked by two players, did brilliantly
to turn them both. He then went on to tee up Mwaruwari, who had no option but to convert the chance from close range and give the home side the well deserved lead.
With nine minutes left on the clock, Steven Gerrard managed to pull one back for the Reds. After Fernando Torres saw his effort get blocked on the line by Bunn, Gerrard managed to follow through and thrash the ball with pace past
the keeper, on the 81st minute mark.
Four minutes later, Gerrard managed to win a penalty for the visiting team. Having already scored from open play, almost everyone expected the skipper to convert from the spot-kick. However, just like Liverpool's season, the midfielder’s
shot managed to sail wide off the mark.
The match eventually came to a close, with Blackburn winning by an astonishing three goals to one. However, as a result, Roy Hodgson's future as Liverpool's manager, might just end sooner rather than later.
