Premier League Full Time Report: Blackpool vs. Everton – Everton come from behind twice to draw with Blackpool
Blackpool took the lead twice on the night but then managed to see Everton scramble back in twice as the match end in a two all draw.
Blackpool took the early lead in the tenth minute as Neal Eardley curled in a brilliantly positioned free kick. Everton however managed to get right back into the game as Tim Cahill scored a signature header on the other end of the pitch.
Despite Everton looking to be the more dominant side in the opening half, they managed to let Blackpool take the lead again in the second half. A fumble in the Everton box saw David Vaughan fire a reflex shot into the back of the Everton
net to give the home side the one goal advantage, once again.
Nonetheless, just like the first half Everton managed to respond almost immediately and got the score level once again. Seamus Coleman, managed to latch onto a loose ball inside the Blackpool area and then managed to create space and fire
a shot from just inside the zone. That goal came as a result of some serious lapse in concentration from the Blackpool defence, but the team then managed to get their act together for the rest of the game.
Both the teams then went on to try and score the winning goal, but with both the sides holding their back lines brilliantly, neither side managed to get the better of their opponent and the game finally ended as a two all draw.
Everton have now successfully managed to turn their rather slow start to the season, to a rather good run. In October alone the team has managed to secure ten of the possible twelve points that they could have possibly gotten. Despite
that fact, prior to the game both Blackpool and Everton were level on points.
The only reason for Blackpool was doing so good, was due to the brilliant start that the newly promoted side has had to the season. However despite the early brilliance that the team has shown, they have seemed to finally admit to the
fact that this season the team's priority would be to avoid relegation and nothing more or nothing less, but the way things are going it looks like the Blackpool side will be achieving much more then what they have set out to achieve.
