Premier League Full Time Report - Everton vs. Arsenal: Arsenal end Everton's unbeaten record
Arsenal travelled to Goodison Park to take on Everton in what was scheduled to be a highly enticing match. If Arsenal were to win the match, they would go to within two points of the leaders Chelsea, while Everton were determined to hold
onto their unbeaten run at home.
Nonetheless goals from both Bacary Sagna and the Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas were enough to see the Gunners end the match on top of their opponents.
Sagna opened the scoring in the game in only the thirty fifth minute. The side back managed to get well ahead of his usual position and thumped a shot into the goal from a very narrow angle to give Arsenal the lead. Cesc Fabregas also
went on to add to the score right after the restart and the two goal cushion saw Arsenal cruise through to the end of the game. Fabregas exchanged a pass with Chamakh who teed up the captain for the volley. Fabregas didn't think twice and smashed the ball
into the back of the net on the half volley and sent the visiting Arsenal fan's into an early celebration party.
Arsenal could have well added to their score line by the end of the night if both Chamakh and Nasri had capitalized on their chances. Apart from that Lukasz Fabianksi seemed to be in sublime form as he was making life h**l for the Everton
attackers who just couldn't seem to get a goal past the in-form keeper.
However later on in the second half Everton finally felt the need to put some pressure on their opponents and David Moyes brought on Yakubu and Beckford. Both the players had some glorious opportunities but Fabianksi was there once again
to deny them the opportunity of getting a goal for the home side.
Tim Cahill however managed to break Fabianksi's resolve two minutes from time as he bundled in a loose ball into the back of the Arsenal net, however it was all too little, too late and with just minutes left on the clock, Arsenal comfortably
held on to go on and win the game and get the three crucial points at the end of a tricky away fixture.
