Premier League Full Time Report: Manchester City vs Stoke City – Part 4
The second goal scored by Tevez in the game was his 21st goal of the season in the Premier League and it just showed how important the striker was to the club. City were more than likely to try their best to hold on to him, despite the forward hinting that he might be on his way out at the end of the season.
In the 69th minute, Dzeko came close once again. This time around, the striker went on to smack an effort on the outside of the post from a tight angle. However, it was becoming quite apparent that the striker was finally starting to fit into the City style of play.
In the 80th minute, Milner was taken out by Collins in a very dangerous area. Once the referee blew his whistle, it seemed like he had awarded the home side with a penalty. However, after further discussion it became clear that he had awarded them with a free kick just outside the area instead.
In the 85th minute, Dzeko came close once again as he rose up to meet a cross. The striker connected with the ball rather well, but his effort ended up sailing over the bar, instead of dipping in at the last second.
