Premier League Goal Summary: Bolton Wanderers 0 vs 2 Sunderland
Bolton Wanderers hosted Sunderland at the Reebok Stadium, in a game that was going to be a real test for the home side.
Sunderland had been performing quite decently in the league so far, while Bolton had fallen from grace, after making a brilliant start to the season.
All in all, it seemed like the game would end with Sunderland taking home all three points, no questions asked. However, Bolton were planning on using this game as a means to get back into the race for a European spot and to try and give their fans something
to cheer about.
The match kicked off with both the teams attacking each other and looking to be equally as capable of scoring. As the match progressed, Sunderland started to show their superiority in defence, while Bolton looked more comfortable just defending their lines.
Nonetheless it wasn’t until the 82nd minute that the first goal of the game was scored.
After a corner was whipped into the Bolton area, the ball zipped across a few times before falling to Sessegnon. Sessegnon, then went on to hit a crisp low shot, which nestled into the back of the net and gave Sunderland the lead in the game.
Following the attacking spirit shown by the Black Cats, that goal was one which they totally deserved to score.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Sunderland managed to score their second goal of the game. Sessegnon slid a ball towards Bendtner, who has more than enough time to smack the ball low into the back of the net.
The goal was made possible due to the fact that Bolton had all their men forward in the dying minutes of the game, in hopes of salvaging a point.
