Premier League Goal Summary: Liverpool vs Norwich City
Liverpool played host to the newly promoted side Norwich City in the Premier League, as the Reds looked to pick up all three points from their game.
Liverpool were being hailed as the clear favourites to come out on top in the game, considering the fact that they were fighting for a spot in the top four, while Norwich were just looking to stay afloat in their first season in the top flight on English football.
Nonetheless, the shaky performances that Liverpool had been producing all season long left a few experts with some doubts over the team’s credentials, as they believed Norwich could definitely get something from the game.
After a very promising start, which saw Liverpool create a number of opportunities, the Reds found the opening goal of the game in the first minute of added time at the end of the first half.
Norwich who had been defending rather brilliantly, seemed to have a momentary lapse as Martin made a mess of clearing a long ball. His effort got deflected off of Tierney and with Ruddy being deceived by the flight of the ball, it sailed into the back of the net.
In the second half, Norwich seemed to be going all out to try and get something from the game, as they looked to create a number of chances of their own.
The team’s hard work paid off in the 60th minute as Holt scored the equalizing goal for the team. Pilkington whipped in a cross, which Holt went on to power past Reina into the back of the net, via his head.
As a result, the game ended with both the team’s being level at one goal apiece and being awarded one point from the game.
