Manchester City and Fulham took on each other in the Premier League. Following goals scored by Kun Aguero, an own goal by Baird and a second half goal by Edin Dzeko, City won by three goals to nil.
Following their defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in the Premier League, City went into their game with a point to prove, as they looked to pick up all three points from the game.
On the other hand, Fulham had hit a rich vein of form in recent weeks and weren’t willing to be pushed over in the game.
As a result, both the teams were going to have to work hard, in order to get something out of the game.
In the 9th minute of the game, Johnson made a darting run into the area and then seemed to kick Baird, as he tumbled over. However, the referee ended up pointing to the spot and awarded City with a penalty.
Aguero stepped up to take the spot kick and buried his effort into the top right corner of the net, as City took the one goal to nil lead in the game.
In the 30th minute, it was Johnson and Baird once again, who were in the thick of things. Johnson got forward and whipped in a ferocious cross into the area. The ball hit Baird and flew past Schwarzer into the back of the goal.
As a result of that own goal, City lead by two goals to nil at the half time break.
In the second half, City had to wait till the 72nd minute, before then scored a third goal. Aguero made a brilliant run forward and then played the ball to an empty Dzeko in the box. The striker then smashed his effort into the back of the net
via his left foot.
As a result of the win, City extended their lead at the top of the table to three points. With Manchester United set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, City believed they could end the weekend with their lead intact.
