Tottenham played host to Manchester United in a game, that was a must win for both the teams involved.
Tottenham needed to win the game, in order to maintain their pressure on Manchester United and Manchester City, while avoiding dropping to within four points of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, who seemed determined to claim the third spot
in the league table.
On the other hand, Manchester United were looking to pick up all three points from their game, in order to keep the game between them and Manchester City to just two points, as they looked to claim the Premier League
title once again.
Tottenham thought that they had opened the scoring in the game, as Adebayor went on to heel flick a Saha shot into the back of the net in the 37th minute. However, the referee went on to signal that Adebayor
has handled the ball and hence the goal was disallowed.
However, just before the end of the first half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 went on to meet a precise corner, as he headed the ball into the back of the net, via his head.
As a result of that goal from Rooney, United headed into the half time break with a one goal to nil lead.
United broke at Tottenham in the 60th minute on the counter attack and a low cross by Nani was scooped up in the air. Young leaped up and then went on to scissor kick the ball into the back of the net in
emphatic fashion.
With everyone still wondering how the attacker bent his body to score his first goal of the game, he went on to score another one in the 69th minute. This time around, Young bent the ball into the far post,
leaving Friedel with no chance of stopping the ball.
With Young scoring his second, United were leading by three goals to nil, with plenty of time to go.
Tottenham managed to get a goal back in the 87th minute, as United gifted Defoe the opportunity to run at the Red Devils goal and take a pop from distance.
Nonetheless, the game ended with United bating Tottenham by three goals to one.
