Premier League Goal Summary: Wigan Athletic vs Tottenham Hotspur
After having beaten http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 last weekend, Tottenham Hotspur travelled to DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic. The Spurs were looking to maintain the good streak that they had going, while Wigan were looking to try and get a point from the game, in order
to cement their spot in the league.
The match kicked off with a bang for Tottenham, who took just three minutes to score the opening goal of the game.
In the 3rd minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Caldwell-c14440, before squaring the ball toward Rafael van der Vaart. With the midfielder just a couple of
yards from the Wigan goal, he made no mistake as he tucked his shot away and beat Ali Al-Habsi with ease.
In the 23rd minute of the game, Tottenham won a corner and looked to attack Wigan from the set piece. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 was the quickest
player to react to the flight of the ball and rushed onto the ball, before glancing it into the goal. The goal saw Tottenham go up by two goals, with it looking close to impossible for Wigan to get back in the game.
In the 50th minute of the game, Wigan pulled a goal back out of nothing and seemed to finally be back in the game. Diame blocked an attempted clearance from Tottenham and then went on to turn past Kaboul. He then made no mistake as he drilled
a ball into the back of the net beyond Friedel.
In the 62nd minute Ghouri saw a second yellow card for a late lunge and as a result, was given the marching orders. This ultimately saw Wigan fail to be able to match Tottenham, as the game ended with the Spurs beating Wigan by two goals to one.
