Premier League Gossip: Alex keen on Sanchez, Sneijder trying to carve a way to Old Trafford
Manchester United had been linked with Udinese's winger, Alexis Sanchez, ever since the end of World Cup this past summer. However those rumors seem to have been coming afloat once again.
According to The News of the World, Alex Ferguson is ready to make the move for the player in the near future. According to the paper, the manager was reported to have said: "We have looked at Sanchez and he has impressed us. As have other players. He has had
very good games and is an interesting project. We have gathered some background, as with other footballers at his level, but nothing more than this - for the moment."
Sanchez was by far one of the best talents at the World Cup, he even managed to have the most successfully completed dribbles in the tournament, leaving players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo behind him. The player had
also previously admitted, that if an opportunity such as this was to present itself, he wouldn't hesitate before making the move.
United could be pursuing the player considering the fact, that the teams winger, Antonio Valencia just recently broke his leg, which means that he would be out of action for a major part of the season. The team seems to be in desperate
need to find replacements for the player and Sanchez seems to be the man that they want to bring in.
One of the biggest names in the world of football, Wesley Sneijder has finally admitted that he would play in England someday. However he also added that the only team that he would consider to play for, is Manchester United.
The Dutch superstar had been linked with a move to Old Trafford numerous times in the past, but had stayed determined with wanting to remain with the Inter Milan side.
However the midfielder has joined the list of players, who have claimed that they are not happy at the club, under new manager Rafa Benitez and are looking to move out of the club as soon as possible.
The player was reported to have told the Daily Star Sunday: ''If somebody asks me if I will ever play for Manchester United, it's impossible for me to say no. How can you say that if the chance came you would not play for one of
the biggest clubs in the world."
''I don't think there is any player in the world who could publically rule out ever playing for Manchester United, and if they did I would doubt they were telling the truth."
The player could and most probably would prove to be a great addition to the already great Manchester United squad. The team is also currently suffering a lack of central midfielders, with Paul Scholes, who could retire at any moment,
being the only real midfielder in the team. Sneijder could prove to fill in the void that is left by the out going player.
