Premier League Gossip: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 to join Tottenham Hotspur
Togolese international, Emmanuel Adebayor has gone on to hint that he might be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season. The striker who is currently on loan at Real Madrid, from Manchester City, was reported to be staying at the Bernabeu
permanently once the season came to an end, however it now seems like the 27 year old, would much rather prefer to move to the White Hart Lane instead.
The striker went on to reveal that prior to making the move to Real Madrid; he was opting to move to Tottenham instead.
When talking about the possibility of one day playing for Madrid and going back to the Premier League, Adebayor is reported to have said: “I would go there and sign for them and listen to what they have to say to me.”
“I will definitely come back to the Premier League, I do not know when but I miss it.”
He then went on to reveal how the Spurs were his first choice and were given a priority over Madrid by the player. “I felt sad because before joining Real Madrid my first choice was Tottenham”
“I was supposed to sign for Tottenham before Madrid came in.”
However, the player was made aware of the fact that he was ridiculed at the White Hart Lane, the last time he visited, via an ocean of abusive chants from the home fans. As a result, the player was asked if he would still be considering playing for Tottenham,
to which he responded by stating: “I heard this song [that the Spurs fans sang about him] and I did not take it seriously because I know part of me is from London and Tottenham is part of London.”
“What if I am wearing a Tottenham shirt tomorrow?”
It seems like Adebayor is a man who knows just what he wants, or at least that’s the impression he gives off every now and then. A move to Madrid would be considered a dream come true for most footballers, but it seems like Adebayor would much rather prefer
playing for the Spurs.
Now, the fact that City were willing to let the striker go to Madrid for as little as fifteen million pounds, is going to play a vital role in deciding the players future. Should the player try and push for a move to the North London club, City are going
to ask them to fork-out more cash, which could ultimately lead to the move never really taking place.
Nonetheless, as it stands, Adebayor’s future, if anything is now in his own hands and based on how he manages to convince his parent club, he could be playing for either Tottenham or Madrid next season.
