Premier League Gossip: Guardiola to replace Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson, the current manager of Manchester United is bound to retire from his position sooner rather than later. However the manger has often found it close to impossible to name an heir to his throne.
Many fans have strongly believed that the only man who was competent enough of taking over the legendary throne at Old Trafford was, Jose Mourinho who happens to be a legend in the making himself. Contrary to that belief, there is now a new manager in the
running to take over that job.
The manager that has now been linked with a potential move to the club is current Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola.
According to numerous press releases, Manchester United have already made formal contact with the manager’s agent to see whether or not he would be able to make a move to Old Trafford.
This news has come despite the fact that Ferguson recently released a statement which stated that he strongly felt that a young manger could not potentially replace him. Nonetheless it appears as though the manager has realized that Guardiola is one of the
most competent managers around to replace him.
The manager has already managed to set history in his debut season with Barcelona. Guardiola became the first manager in the history of football to win six trophies in a single footballing year.  That record in its own should be good enough to ensure the
fact that the manager is one of the most worthy managers to take over at the Old Trafford hot seat.
However despite that fact, it is now strongly believed that the Manchester United manager has already given the thumbs up to Guardiola taking over at the club in the future.
What makes this deal all the more interesting is the fact that Guardiola is currently employed on a year to year basis at the Camp Nou. What this means is, is that manager despite considering Barcelona to be his home, could potentially be tempted to move
away from the team, in hopes of getting a more assured deal at Old Trafford, which would guarantee him a job for much longer.
The United fans on the other hand, might be partially disappointed with the fact that they were looking forward to Mourinho taking over the reins of the team in the future. The fans would however not be disappointed if whoever takes over only if he guarantees
the team some trophies in the future, since at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
