Premier League Gossip: Juventus want Aquilani for cheap, Forlan wants move back to Premier League
Liverpool are in desperate need of money at the current moment in time and that is exactly why Juventus have decided to pull a cheeky move on the Reds, by offering them a mere ten million pounds for the services of Alberto Aquilani on a permanent basis.
According to a press release: 'Juventus intend to capitalise on Liverpool's financial problems by sealing a cut-price £10million deal for Alberto Aquilani in the January transfer window'.
Liverpool managed to bring Aquilani to Anfield for the price of eighteen million pounds last summer, when they purchased the player from Italian side Roma. However the player failed to live up to the hype that surrounded the move and due to his injuries
and failure to feature in many games, was loaned back to Italian side Juventus.
According to sources though 'a permanent £16m move has been discussed, but Juve sense an opportunity to lower the price and are ready to negotiate it down to around £10m. They may also make an approach for defender Glen Johnson if they fail to prise Gregory
van der Wiel away from Ajax.'
On the bright side of things, Liverpool are currently working up a swap deal, which involves Juan Mata and Ryan Babel. While at the same time, Liverpool fans can be happy for the time being, considering the fact that there has been no news regarding Steven
Gerrard or Fernando Torres.
Diego Forlan, the player who seems to just get better as he gets older has hinted in recent weeks, that he would fancy a move back to the Premier League.
The one team that has gone into a frenzy after hearing that news is London based team, Tottenham. According to a press release: 'Tottenham have been put on red alert after Diego Forlan indicated he is ready for a return to the Premier League'.
Forlan who is currently thirty one years old, is still one of the best strikers in the world. The player has also gone on to mature tremendously from the player who left United as a major flop in 2004. In fact the player has improved so much that Manchester
United are also thinking of making a shock move for the player.
Forlan is rumoured to have been offered a new contract at Atletico Madrid, but the player is believed to have refused that offer in hopes of being able to join another team before ending his career for good. It also seems like the one place where the player
wants to go to is England, according to a recent press release: "Everybody says things, that maybe you don't want to go back. The time I had in England was great and if I had the chance to go back I'd be really happy."
Forlan despite being thirty one, still has a lot more to offer to whatever team does sign him. He has great technique and more experience than anyone could ever want. He is also a proven winner on the biggest stages in the footballing world and hence could
be a great addition to almost every team in the Premier League.
