Premier League Gossip: Tevez on his way out – eventually
Manchester City’s star striker, Carlos Tevez has gone ahead and given his team a major scare. The player who has quite easily been the team’s best player, ever since he joined them, has gone ahead and stated that he might be on his way
out sooner rather than later.
Tevez however then added that the reason for him leaving the club isn’t because he doesn’t like the way the team is playing football, but in fact it is because of personal reasons. The player has given controversial statements about his
career over the last couple of months on numerous occasions. He has even gone ahead and mentioned that he just doesn’t feel the desire and passion to play any more since he is so far away from his family.
These statements and claims from the player have made the management at City get alarmed and opt to resort to a ‘Plan B.’ The reason for the team wanting to think of alternatives is due to the fact that it is now more than apparent that
the strikers priorities are set and there is nothing that could change his mind.
According to Roque Santa Cruz, who happens to a member of the City squad along with Tevez: "He wants to be among his people, who are in Argentina. Your heart goes out to his family. His siblings and his daughters are there...when you feel
that your homeland is calling you back, you could end up giving up everything to return. Still, I think he will see it out and fulfil his contract with City before returning home."
The backup plan that the team is looking to resort to is Edin Dzeko. The team had in the past been pursuing the Wolfsburg striker however an agreement couldn’t develop between the two teams and as a result a deal did not happen.
However according to a press release: City already previously made a move for Dzeko, however Wolfsburg were asking for a whopping fifty million pounds for the player. Despite Dzeko being only twenty four years old, City felt that the right
evaluation for the player was somewhere around thirty million pounds instead. However with the German club refusing to negotiate terms with the club, the move died out and the player didn’t make a move to the richest club in English football.
City could move in for the striker as early as January, since the team would be looking to offload a good portion of their strikers by then and considering the team in question in Manchester City, they just won’t do without spending money
in almost every transfer window.
