Premier League – Maceo Rigters aims first team spot, Etherington signs new deal with Stoke

Maceo Rigters, who plays as a striker for Premier League club Blackburn Rovers, expects for first team opportunities at his current club.
The 26 year old forward formerly played for NAC Breda and joined the Rovers back in 2007. The striker barely was given time to play for his new club, even though he scored 6 times in 9 matches while playing in the U-21 team. Owing to the lack of opportunities provided to him at the club, he was linked with a move away to Kilmarnock, but Rovers vetoed the decision, forcing the striker to stay.
Rigters featured in the pre-season match for the Rovers, where he scored, and lead his side to a victory over Southport. The striker therefore looks to have more opportunities at the club, and hopes for a chance from Blackburn’s manager, Sam Allardyce.
The striker was vocal about the inability to play, and stated he did not feature in many games for his team in the Premier League. He added that now he’s stronger. The 26 year old hoped for more chances at the club, but was waiting to see what transpires in the new season.
Maceo insisted that he was unaware of what the manager had planned for him, and just wanted to concentrate on the pre-season. Rigters added that he aims to impress, remain fit and then just hope for the best to happen.
The striker was unaware of what will happen for him. Rigters added that he has not had any talks with anyone at the club, and was just aiming to play top level football, in order to impress the manager. Maceo also said that he knows how to play football, and has the natural talent to score goals. The forward therefore just aimed to work harder than ever.
Rigters fancies Blackburn Rovers, and has scored a lot of goals while playing in the reserves. The striker really wants to have a go in Premier League this season, as he aims to stay at the current club, owing to his admiration for the Rovers.
In other news, Stoke City midfielder Matthew Etherington has agreed for a four year deal with his current club. The 28 year old was delighted with the deal, and claimed that he has had the best time of his career at the club, and was happy to ink the new contract.
The midfielder accepted that it did take to time to agree to the terms, but is humbled with fact that he has signed the new contract, and aims for bigger and better things at the club. Mathew aimed to improve upon what he achieved last season, and play a key role for Stoke.
The player praised the environment of the club, and applauded the efforts of the players. The midfielder fancied playing in front of a jam packed crowd in the Britannia Stadium, and never doubted his decision on committing his future at the club.
Stoke City manager, Tony Pulis was also happy with the new deal, and hoped that the midfielder could be more successful than he was last season. Pulis stated that after the signing of the deal, Matthew would focus on the job at hand, and play at his best.
The manager claimed that the midfielder possessed quality and has turned out to be a top player. Tony tipped Matthew to perhaps make it into the English National Football team, as Capello is looking for some fresh legs.
"He is one of a number of players who must feel that opportunity knocks following England's performance in the World Cup”, claimed manager Tony Pulis.
The manager added that naturally gifted left wingers are rare, and his side is very lucky to have one of the best in the Premier League in his side. Tony added that Matthew has established himself as a top quality player, and has surprised everyone with his top class performances in the Premier League
