Premier League Match Analysis: Arsenal vs. Fulham – Nasri magic puts Fulham to bed (Part 3)
Arsene Wenger clearly had a talk with his team at the half time break which was apparent from the attitude of the players once the second half started; Arsenal was far more composed and weren’t looking to rush things. The team was looking to play a more
patient build up to the game hence another chance to score came their way in the fifty seventh minute.
Once again a Fulham player gave the ball away to Arshavin and he took a pop at goal, however his initial shot was blocked, but the player got the ball once again and managed to wave past a few player and then fired a shot goal wards once again, but this
time Schwarzer was there to fist the ball away.
However the second-half also played host to a number of chances from Fulham, the first real chance for the team coming on the sixty first minute. After winning a corner off, of Arsenal, the team nearly took the lead through Etuhu, who rose the highest after
not being challenged for the ball, but the player managed to guide his header well wide of the goal. The only question that Wenger needed to ask his defense after that was, just what were they thinking? There was not a single player marking Etuhu and he could
have very well given the team a lead.
After the chance from Etuhu, Fulham managed to string together a number of chances in front of the Arsenal goal for the next ten or eleven minutes. However the only thing that was keeping out Fulham, were the heroics of Fabianski and the stupidity of the
Fulham attackers, who just couldn't seem to get a single shot on target to cause any real troubles to the Arsenal keeper.
However Wenger realizing that his team were being well beat, went on to introduce Robin Van Persie to the mix and that substitution proved to be the perfect change to the Arsenal formation.
Arsenal went on to get the break through at the seventy fifth minute, but the goal came only thanks to the brilliance of Van Persie and Nasri. Van Persie got the ball on the edge of the box and after faking a shot with his favorite left foot, the player
played on Nasri who used his pace to get one-on-one with Schwarzer, this time instead he went on to round the keeper while ending an up going shot a little wide of goal. With a defender rushing in the player turned around and curled the ball into the goal
from a near zero angle. The goal managed to outdo the first goal that Nasri scored therefore these both goals can easily enter into the best of the seasons category.
