Premier League Match Analysis: Arsenal vs. Fulham – Nasri magic puts Fulham to bed (Part 4)
After taking the lead, Arsenal had the simplest of tasks, to maintain it; by holding on to the possession. Arsenal are well known for their ability to retain possession so were doing that well. The team did rather well to keep Fulham out of the game for
a good ten minutes, before Fulham almost picked up another equalizer.
Gera picked the ball up a good twenty five yards from goal and then went on to strike the ball on the half volley, with Fabianski on the near post. The shot-stopper had to stretch to his maximum limit to keep the shot out. Not only did that shot show how
good Gera is, but it also went on to display just what the Arsenal keeper is capable of.
However after another five minutes of Arsenal holding onto the possession the game finally came to an end, with Arsenal on top of things at the end of ninety minutes.
As a result of the victory Arsenal were sky rocketed to the top of the Premier League and were looking to hold on to that spot as Chelsea managed to draw their game with Everton and Manchester United's match happened to get delayed.
The man of the match award in the night went to Nasri, who by all means was the heart and soul of the Arsenal team in the game. Not only did he score the two goals, but he also went on to show just what the Arsenal players were capable off and at the same
time sent out a warning to Chelsea and United, that this might just happen to be Arsenal's season after all.
Wenger was also reported to be rather optimistic after the win, as in the post match interview the manager went on to state, that he believed that his team had proved that they were serious title contenders and that the time to end the five year drought
was now or never.
