Premier League Match Ratings: Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa – Aston Villa
Aston Villa travelled to the White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League encounter.
Going into the game, both the team were believed to be capable of outperforming each other. However, with Villa failing to get a hold on the game, Tottenham went on to cruise past their opponents, as the Villans could just watch the game as mere spectators.
In the end, Tottenham picked up all three points from the game, after managing to score two goals in the first half, which Villa failed to do anything about.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shay-Given-c33284: The keeper was kept busy throughout the game. Despite him making a few good saves, his communication with his defenders was at an all time low and this led to him letting in two very easy goals.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422. However, he failed to contain the Welsh international and failed to make an impact of any sort on the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stephen-Warnock-c34158: Despite being technically gifted, his lack of pace was exposed time and time again. Both Lennon and Walker bombarded down his flank and all he could do, was make the odd interception.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Richard-Dunne-c31070: The defender showed signs of his life amongst a very dead back line. He often made good interceptions and won aerial battles. However, he couldn’t do anything to prevent the goals from being scored.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Collins-c17687: Had a disastrous game, which saw him defend poorly and fall all over the place. His poor positioning saw him pass the ball into the path of Adebayor and that led to Villa conceding the second goal of the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Javier Cuellar: Quite possibly the worst player on display in the game. Failed to do anything at all and was taken off in the second half due to this.
Stilliyan Petrov: He was the only Villa midfielder who looked to get something out of the game. Played some good passes, but couldn’t match the pace and power of the Tottenham midfielders.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-Herd-c9017: Worked his socks off, but all of that accounted for nothing, since he couldn’t really produce anything special in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358: Seemed to be missing for the most part and hardly ever got the ball, which is why he posed no threat on the Tottenham goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Agbonlahor-c14288: His pace was threatening, but he was forced out wide and kept quiet for too long.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emile-Heskey-c12468: Won aerial battles, but that was about all the contributions that he made during the game.
