Arsenal hosted Manchester United at the Emirates and despite going level through Van Persie, the Gunners lost by two goals to one in the end.
Following their defeat to Manchester United by eight goals to two earlier in the season, the Gunners were looking to try and redeem themselves against the Red Devils.
However, given the poor run in form that Arsenal had displayed in the last two weeks, United were looking to capitalise on the situation and pick up the three points against the North London club.
The first goal of the game came in the stoppage time of the first half as Valencia nodded the ball into the back of the net.
Giggs went on to create space on the left flank and then crossed the ball across the face of the goal. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 went on to dart towards the ball and then rifled the ball into the back of the net via his head.
In the 71st minute, Arsenal drew level through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain went on to play a killer pass forward and Van Persie raced onto the through ball, before pulling a shot between his markers legs and into the back of the
net.
Ten minutes later, United went ahead and scored their second goal of the game, as they looked to claim all three points from the game.
Valencia beat Arshavin and then found his way into the box. Just when it seemed like the Russian would get back at the winger, he pulled a pass to Welbeck who shot the ball into the back of the net from point blank range.
As a result of that second goal, United went on to win by two goals to one and picked up all three points from the game.
The Gunners now need to step their game up, considering there are five points separating them from the top of the Premier League table.
