Premier League Match Report: Liverpool vs Bolton Wanderers Part 1
Liverpool played host to Bolton Wanderers at Anfield, in what was going to be a real test for both teams. Liverpool and Bolton had both managed to start the current Premier League season in remarkable fashion and were looking to take advantage of the brilliant form that they were showing early on. However, despite that fact, it was the Reds who were being hailed as the favourites going into the game, mainly because they were playing at home.
Both teams started off the game and looked to take the game to each other. In just the 8th minute, Downing looked like he would pull the trigger, but Robinson went on to make a brilliant tackle to deny the forward from scoring.
In the 15th minute of the game, Jaaskelainen went on to produce a brilliant save to keep out a Downing effort. In the 25th minute, Suarez was played on by Henderson. The forward went into a one on one situation with the keeper, but his lofted effort landed on the roof on the net.
In the 41st minute, the last chance of the opening forty five fell to Kuyt. The striker took a few touches and then shot at goal, but failed to convert with his effort.
Soon after the first half came to an end, with Liverpool taking the one goal lead with them into the break. However, both teams still had a lot more to give to the game and as a result, the second half was already shaping up to be an exciting affair between the two sides.
