Liverpool played host to Newcastle United at home in the Premier League, as the Reds looked to try and propel themselves within catching distance of the top four.
However, with Newcastle playing rather well in the last couple of seasons, they felt that they were more than capable of capturing a spot in the top four for themselves.
As a result, with both the teams looking to have a go at each other, the match was shaping up to be a rather interesting one.
The match saw a Liverpool appeal for a penalty early on in the game. Suarez went on to claim that Coloccini handled the ball in the area in the 5th minute of the game, but the referee didn’t feel that way and waved play on.
With both the teams attacking each other back and forth, it was only a matter of time before one of them score a goal.
In the 43rd minute of the game, Newcastle finally got the break through, as Cabaye scored the opening goal of the game. Ben Arfa went on to beat two men, before he crossed the ball to the far post. Cabaye then went on to smash the ball into the
back of the net from an unfavourable angle.
The second half saw Liverpool come out with a point to prove as they looked to score early on.
Despite that urgency that the team had shown, they had to wait all the way until the 67th minute to equalize in the game.
Suarez went on to punt the ball forward and with him fighting off Coloccini, he managed to round Krul and slide the ball into the back of the net.
The Reds were given a glimmer of hope as Coloccini was shown a red in the 84th minute.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 having a one man advantage in the last few minutes of the game, it seemed like they might be able to get something out of the match.
Nonetheless, the team failed to make the most of their chance and the match went on to end in a one all draw between the two teams.
