Premier League Match Report: Manchester City vs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 - Part 1

Arsenal travelled to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City in the Premier League, in a game that was arguably one of the biggest matches that both the teams would play this season.
City needed the three points to reclaim their spot at the top of the Premier League table, while Arsenal needed the three points to push closer to the top of the table.
All in all, both the teams were determined to push for the three points and were more than likely to attack each other from the very first minute of the game.
In the 9th minute, City created teh first chance of the game. Zabaleta crossed the ball towards Aguero, who controlled brilliantly, but sent his effort well over the bar.
Arsenal had their first attempt at goal all the way in the 17th minute, when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 found space and sprinted down the right flank. The winger then went on to smack a shot goal wards, but his effort was fumbled behind by Hart.
In the 24th minute, Manchester City came close to scoring once again. Balotelli eventually took the shot at goal after some brilliant build up play, however, Szczesny went on to make another fine save to deny the Italian striker.
Arsenal went on to appeal for a penalty in the 35th minute. A Van Persie shot, saw the ball deflect to Ramsey, who was taken out by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure. However, the referee deemed it a clean tackle and waved play on.
Before the end of the first half, the last clear cut chance fell into the feet of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero. The Argentine danced across the Gunners area and then pulled the trigger. However, Szczesny somehow predicted just where the shot would go and went down in time to catch the ball with ease.
The referee soon blew the whistle to signal the end of the first half, which saw both the teams go into the tunnel level at nil all.
Nonetheless, with both the teams already having shown glimpses of brilliance, the second half was guaranteed to be a mouth watering affair.
