Premier League Match Report: Manchester City vs Aston Villa – Part 2

a result, City were now leading by two goals to nil.
In the 53rd minute, things took a toll for the worst for Villa, as Kompany scored the third goal of the game for City. A ball was crossed into the box and with no one marking the Belgian; he rose the highest and nodded the ball into the back of
the net.
At this point in the game, the match seemed as good as over. With Villa not looking like a threat at all, it was only a matter of time before City picked up all three points from the game.
In the 65th minute, there was a momentary lapse in the City backline as Delph whipped in a cross towards the far post. Warnock met the flight of the ball and smashed a ball into the roof of the net.
Despite the goal being scored, Villa were well aware of the fact that the game was already over for them.
In the 71st minute Milner started a brilliant move, which saw him play a cross field ball and then receive the ball on the edge of the Villa area. The midfielder then curled a fine effort into the back of the net, but refused to celebrate against
his former team.
Nonetheless, soon after the goal was scored, both teams decided to run the clock out. The referee then brought the game to an end, which resulted in City winning by four goals to one.
