Premier League Match Report: Manchester City vs Liverpool – Part 1
Manchester City played host to Liverpool in the Premier League at the turn of the New Year. Following an onslaught from the very first minute, goals by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Milner-c17706 helped City pick up the three points from the game.
Going into the game, City were looking to bounce back from their slump in form, as the team had lost its second game in the Premier League and was looking to bounce back from it with a bang.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 were going to be without their star striker, Luis Suarez in the game and this was bound to affect the team’s pace and attacking strength.
Nonetheless, both the managers were looking to push their team forward, as they looked to try and secure their standing in the league table.
The match kicked off with a bang, with city creating the first chance of the game in just the 7th minute. However, a poor first touch from Edin Dzeko saw Liverpool stay level early on.
However, City soon went on to maintain their pressure and in the 10th minute, the team managed to score the first goal of the game.
Kuyt was the man to lose possession, as the ball fell to Silva. Silva then played Aguero on with a through ball and the strikers rather tame effort, miraculously managed to sail past the keeper and into the back of the net.
City nearly double their lead in the 22nd minute, as Dzeko fired a shot from some twenty yards out. The strikers effort hit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 and barley sailed past the post.

However, Reina couldn’t do much as Yaya Toure managed to score City’s second goal of the game in the thirty fourth minute.
A corner was whipped in front of the goal and Toure managed to beat his defender and then thump the ball into the back of the net.
As a result, both the teams headed into the half time break with the score reading two goals to nil in City’s favour.
