Premier League Match Report: Manchester City vs Liverpool – Part 2
The second half saw both the teams restart the match in a rather tame manner, as neither side looked to attack the other team early on.
The only talking point early on, was when Dzeko and Skrtel tried to enthusiastically pick on each other, following a rash tackle from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 defender.
In the 73rd minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 was given his marking orders, as the midfielder was shown a second yellow card in a matter of minutes.
Despite City being cut down to just ten men, they still looked to be a whole lot more lively than Liverpool. The team looked to attack the Reds once again and as Toure entered the penalty area, Skrtel went on to take the midfielder out. The referee thought
about it for a second, but then went on to point to the spot, as he awarded the home side a penalty on the 74th minute mark.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Milner-c17706 decided to take the spot kick and sent a powerful effort straight into the back of the net.
Bellamy tried to get a goal back for Liverpool in the 90th minute, but his effort flew towards Hart, who knocked the ball back into play. The fell to Maxi Rodriguez, who ended up making Hart produce a massive save to keep the ball out of the goal.
As a result of the late save from Hart, the match ended with Manchester City taking all three points from the game, after scoring three goals, without reply in the game.
However, Liverpool will now be looking to try and work out a solution to what they need to do in Suarez’s absence over the coming weeks.
At the same time, City will now be looking to maintain the form that they displayed against the Reds, as they look to win the Premier League title.
