Premier League Match Report: Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur – Part 1
Manchester City took on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, as they looked to extend their lead at the top of the table.
On the other hand, Tottenham were looking to pick up the win over the league leaders, as they hoped to somehow make their way to the second spot.
Given the form that City had been displaying in the league and level of performances that the team had been producing at home, the chances of Tottenham getting anything out of the game seemed rather slim.
However, with City going into the game without Yaya and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 still serving out his suspension City seemed to be a little weak at the back.
The match kicked off with both the teams looking to go at each other from the very first minute.
Despite Tottenham having a good start to the game, they slowly started to fade out in the game, as City started to dominate the run of things and the possession.
In the 18th minute, City went on to produce their first chance in the game. Nasri played the ball to Silva, who pulled the ball back to Aguero. The Argentine seemed like he would score, but his effort came off the feet of Dzeko. The lack of coordination
between the two strikers was fairly evident at that point in the game.
City’s next opportunity to score the opener fell to Aguero in the 30th minute. Silva went on to play a deft pass to the striker, who darted onto the ball and then shot the ball goal wards. Despite it seeming like City would take the lead, Friedel
managed to spread himself just enough to prevent the ball from going into the back of the net.
Following that chance, both the teams faded into the game and soon after the first half came to an end with both the teams being level at nil all.
Heading into the half time break, both the teams and their managers seemed like they had a lot to discuss and it would be a wait to see just what they would chance for the second half.
