Manchester United played host to Tottenham Hotspur at home in the Premier League, as they looked to continue their unbeaten run over the Spurs which extended to twenty two games, prior to today. However, the Spurs had plans of their own, as they weren’t looking to lose to the Red Devils once again.
The match kicked off with Vertonghen scoring the opening goal of the game. In the 3rd minute, the Spurs defender went on to drive forward and then managed to find himself in the box. He then shot at goal, as his effort deflected off a United player and sailed into the back of the net.
Then in the 32nd minute, Tottenham went on to double their lead, as they shocked just about everyone. This time around it was bale who sprinted some fifty yards, as he beat a number of United players. He then went onto slide a shot across the face of the goal, as he beat the keeper and gave his side the two goals to nil lead.
The first half ended with Tottenham leading, and with United looking like they had nothing left to give.
In the second half, Rooney went on to spark a comeback for the Red Devils, as he went on to send in a brilliant cross on the 51st minute mark. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 went on to meet this cross, as he tipped his shot into the goal, just beyond the reach of the keeper.
Two minutes later, in the 53rd minute, Spurs went on to score again. United’s defence fell asleep and allowed Bale to shoot at goal. The initial effort was kept out by Lindegaard, but Dempsey followed it up and sent it over the line.
A minute later, United went on to score another. Van Persie sent a through ball towards Kagawa, who went on to find space before stroking a clam and composed shot into the back of the net.
At this point, it became impossible to predict just what would happen.
However, with Tottenham now parking a bus in front of their goal, United failed to score another and the match saw the London based club pick up a very unpredictable win at the end of the game.
