Newcastle United went on to play host to Manchester City at the St James’ Park, as they looked to try and get their hot streak back.
The Magpies had been on a rather poor run in recent weeks which is why they were looking to go into the game with everything to prove.
On the other hand, City weren’t going to let the gap between themselves and Manchester United extend any further and hence they were looking to push Newcastle all the way.
The match kicked off with a bang for City, who went on to score the opening goal of the game in just the 10th minute of the game.
Nasri went on to receive a brilliant pass from Toure, and the French man then went on to play a through ball to Aguero. The Argentine then had the simplest of tasks, as he just had to tap the ball over the line and into the back of the net.
The visiting team then went on to score a second goal in the 41st minute, as they looked to leave nothing behind in the game.
Garcia went on to latch a header towards the goal, and his effort looked to be one that was going to be blocked before flying over the line. However, Santon failed to knock the ball back out and as a result, City claimed their second goal of the game.
In the second half, Newcastle looked to change things as they came out of the half time break with a bang.
In the 51st minute, Ba went on to head the ball into the back of the net via a Coloccini cross, as the home side looked to finally get things rolling again.
However, the game ended as contest in the 78th minute, as Toure scored City’s third goal of the game. Zabaleta went on to dash forward and played a cut back pass to the midfielder. Toure then tapped the ball past the keeper as City went on to
claim all three points from the game.
