Premier League Match Report: Swansea vs Arsenal – Part 1
Arsenal travelled to take on Swansea in the Premier League, following their win over Leeds United in the FA Cup this past week.
Going into the game, the Gunners were well aware of the fact that a win on the night would see them go within nine points of the league leaders and hence they were looking to go all out in the game.
On the other hand, Swansea had one of the best home records in the Premier league and were looking to maintain that status, as they were hopeful of causing an upset against the Gunners.
Nonetheless, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 looking to retain his goal scoring form, things were going to be a little tricky for Swansea.
The match kicked off with a bang for the Gunners, as they opened the scoring in just the 4th minute of the game. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 went on to play Robin Van Persie on with a brilliant through ball and the striker took his time before slotting the
ball into the back of the net with his right foot.
In the 16th minute, Dyer turned to dodge the Arsenal defenders, but Ramsey went on to take the player out, who tumbled in the area. The referee then went on to point straight to the spot, as he awarded the home side with a penalty.
Sinclair stepped up to take the spot kick and despite Szczesny going the right way, the ball fell into the back of the net.
Following the goal, Swansea started to dominate the game and really pushed the Gunners till the very last minute of the first half.
The Gunners had the ball for a few minutes, but they really failed to do much with the ball when they had it.
Nonetheless, with the referee indicating the end of the first half, Swansea were the happier side heading into the half time break, as they knew they had http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in their reach and could easily go on and cause a massive upset in the game.
