Premier League Match Report: Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool – Part 2
The second half saw Tottenham take the game to the next level, as they dominated the game. At the same time, Sktrel was shown a red card on the 63rd minute and with Liverpool down to nine men, they had a lot of help from the visitors.
In the 66th minute, Van Der Vaart played on Defoe with a brilliant through ball and the striker span around a defender before latching onto it and burying it into the back of the net.
In the 68th minute, Defoe failed to catch a shot from Defoe and let the ball fumble back into play. Adebayor was quickest onto the ball and went on to tap the ball into the back of the net and in doing so, he helped his side get a three goals
to nil lead.
In stoppage time at the end of the second half, Tottenham went on to add to Liverpool’s misery. Adebayor went on to receive a ball over the top and then smacked a volley into the back of the net, well beyond Reina’s reach. Carragher was the player at fault
there, as he played the striker on side due to some poor positioning.
Soon after, the referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the game, which saw Liverpool suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Tottenham, who were on cloud nine, having picked up a win which catapulted them back into the top half of the Premier
League table.
All in all, it seems like Tottenham are back in the race to contend for a spot in the top six this time around.
