Premier League Match Report: Tottenham Hotspur vs Queens Park Rangers - Part 1
Tottenham Hotspur played host to the Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 at the White Hart Lane, in order to try and maintain the position that they had established in the Premier League. At the same time, Spurs were looking to try and capitalize on the unstable situation
in London, as they tried to get ahead of the other London clubs.
However, with QPR performing rather well in the league so far, this game was going to be anything by a walk in the park for the home side, despite them being a regular feature in the Premier League, as opposed to their newly promoted opponents.
The match kicked off with the home side taking the game to QPR. Tottenham were constantly bombarding forward and went on to create a number of brilliant chances, which they could have easily capitalized off of. However, due to some poor finishing, the team
failed to score an early goal in the game.
In the 21st minute, Adebayor flicked the ball towards Van der Vaart, who then played the ball out towards Lennon. Lennon then went on to slide a brilliant pass towards Bale, who had all the time in the world to smack a shot past the keeper and
into the back of the net.
In the 33rd minute, Tottenham went on to double their lead, as they looked to assert their dominance on the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ledley-King-c21859 got forward into the QPR half and took a pop at goal from some twenty yards out. His effort took a massive deflection and fell right into the feet of Van Der Vaart. The midfielder looked to the left side of the goal and then went on to shoot
the ball into the complete opposite direction. However, the little something extra that he did was enough to send the keeper flying the wrong way.
As the half continued, Tottenham maintained their fine form, but failed to find the back of the net again. As a result, the first half came to an end with Tottenham taking the two goals to nil lead into the half time break and with the team looking to be
the far superior side in the game.
