The second half proved to be a much boring affair compared to the first. Both the teams seemed reluctant to get forward and neither one managed to score any quick goals in the second half.
However, in the 55th minute, Arsenal managed to get the lead in the game.
Van Persie whipped in a brilliant corner, which Fulop failed to grab. The ball then fell into the path of Koscielny, who used his leg to knock the ball into the back of an unguarded goal, as he gave his side the lead in the game.
West Brom came close to drawing things level once again in the seventy first minute, as Andrews took a pop at goal. However, Szczesny managed to make a brilliant save and palmed the ball out of harm’s way.

Due to the win that Arsenal managed to secure in the dying stages of the game, they ensured that they would end up finishing in the third spot, which meant that they would play in the Champions League next season.
On the other hand, West Brom ended up finishing in the tenth spot, as their manager left the team on a high.
