Everton played host to Sunderland at home, as they looked to pick up all three points and continue their quest to finish in the top six at the end of the season.
Given the way Everton had been playing in recent weeks, it seemed like the home side would be able to pick up all the points from the game.
The match kicked off with both the teams having a go at each other, and with both sides creating a number of decent goal scoring opportunities for each other.
However, before the first half came to an end, it was the visiting Sunderland who opened the scoring in the game.
Jelavic failed to clear his lines properly in the added time at the end of the first half, as Gardner went on to hoof a ball back into the area. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537 went on to charge towards the ball, before he curled a fine side foot finish into the back of the
net.
The second half kicked off with a bang for Everton, as they looked to create a number of opportunities for themselves in the game.
Despite all their efforts, they had to wait all the way until the 76th minute to score the first goal of the game for themselves.
Fellaini received the ball on the edge of the box, and he pulled off an expert turn before firing a low shot into the back of the net. His shot rolled in past a number of players, which prevented the keeper from seeing it, as it sailed into the back of the
net.
In the 79th minute, it was Fellaini once again who was pulling the strings for Everton, as he helped the team take the lead in the game.
The goal scorer went on to play a brilliant back heel pass towards Jelavic, who lofted in a brilliant left foot finish.
Following that goal, neither team managed to score another goal in the game. As a result, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 went on to take all three points from the game, despite the fact that they were trailing before the half time whistle was blown.
